During these unprecedented times, sockprints is printing and shipping orders within our normal production time of 3-5 business days from Torrance, California. We’re taking the recommended CDC precautions to protect our staff and limiting direct contact with each other.
Once we receive an order confirmation, your custom socks are typically printed and shipped within 3-5 business days. Larger quantities (100+ pairs) may take a few extra days and we will notify you of any delays.
What makes sockprints unique?
Several years ago we developed a way to print a few socks at a time, so now you can order one-of-a-kind socks by the pair! The soft cotton blend socks we use are knit up to provide the best surface to print on. Our patented process is different from dye sublimation or silk screened socks printed on polyester socks and we can print almost any image with our process. Each order is personally handled by our design and production teams and all the details are carefully reviewed to make sure your custom socks look great.
What kind of socks are used?
Sockprints socks are made specifically for our printing process specifications. We print on cotton blend socks with eco-friendly apparel inks applied directly onto the surface of the socks. The socks are available in a variety of styles/colors for men, women, and youth which can be found on the Create page. Machine wash warm, tumble dry, do not use bleach. For sock sizing specifications please refer to the product listing for details. Please note we do not print on socks provided by customers due to our production specifications.
Please Note: Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we have experienced some delivery delays with the US Postal Service. Most orders are delivered within the normal time frame, but please keep this in mind.
Our standard shipping is via USPS First Class mail with other expedited shipping options available at checkout using USPS Priority Express or FedEx. FREE standard shipping in the US on orders $35 or more. First class mail normally takes about 2-7 days depending on where the socks are being shipped. We ship from Torrance, CA. Sockprints does not have any control over the package once it leaves our location and is not responsible for delays or lost packages by the selected shipping carrier
At the present time we offer FedEx options for international deliveries as we find this service to be more reliable than the US Postal Service. The shipping cost will vary by weight and destination. When shipping to an overseas destination the shipping charges cover the shipping only. Since each country has different duties and customs policies these fees are collected when the socks are delivered. We do not have any access to this information prior to shipping an order. Sockprints is not responsible for delays or lost packages by the selected shipping option.
For custom and semi-custom orders we do not accept returns or exchanges. Print ready designs (non-custom) can be returned to us with a return authorization number. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Human error does happen and if we mess up on a custom order we will reprint the socks. We take our customer service very seriously and if you are not totally satisfied please contact us and we’ll work it out.
Order Modification Questions
If you need to change details on your order after it has been placed you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org with the order number and what needs to be updated and our customer care team will assist you.
What is the minimum number of socks I can order?
ONE PAIR! We specialize in custom printing on our socks with our patented printing process which allows us to print a minimum of one pair of socks. Each pair we print can be totally customized with the design of your choice. Please note when ordering 3+ pairs of the same style the price is discounted off the single pair price with additional bulk price discounts when ordering 9+ pairs. What kind of images can be printed on socks?
Most types of artwork will work, but keep in mind the scale and size of the file and how it will look on the socks. If you submit a fuzzy picture or artwork, it will print the fuzzy. Avoid shadows and dark colors and if you are going to use a photo, make sure the picture is clear. Please note we are printing on a soft surface, not photo paper, so the colors will not be exact to what you see on the computer or mobile screen. Here are some photo tips.
NOTE: We do not print any licensed images or copyrighted images unless you are the copyright owner or have permission to use it, so please keep this in mind when sending your artwork. We will contact you if we have any concerns.
Small: sock size 6-8 ½ fits ages 5-9 and a youth US shoe size 9-2, women with petite feet with a US shoe size 3-5
Medium: sock size 9-11 fits a women’s US shoe size 5.5-9
Large: sock size 10-13 fits a men’s US shoe size 8-12, women’s US shoe size 9-11
Extended: sock size 13-15 fits a men’s US shoe size 13-15
Rules about the file
When uploading a file it can be in a jpeg or png format. The file can either have a transparent background or if it is white we will remove it when setting up the artwork to print. Also note the higher the resolution the better the image will print on the socks.
Rules about the size
When uploading artwork in the design tool it will be placed on the sock within the dimensions of the actual print area. You can adjust the size within this space. You’ll see an alert if the artwork is larger than the print area so you’ll want to scale down the art until this message goes away. If we have any questions on your design we’ll contact you before we print the socks.
Where/How/Can I customize a sock - Where is the design tool?
Select a blank sock to design and click on that product listing which will take you to the design tool page. From here you can upload a photo or art file, add text with the text tool, or select graphic elements from our design collection. You can design your custom socks here.
Issues with the design toolI can’t add to the cart
This is most likely a browser issue, and unfortunately if you refresh the page you will lose the design.
How will I know it saved my image?
Once the product is added to the cart the image will be saved to your order. You can go back to the design tool and edit the artwork if you like, just remember to add it back to the cart.
Can you help me with the design?

Can I add a name to the sock?
Using the design tool you can select a font style and add your custom text. The color and size of the text can also be changed using the text options.
What if I want a different design printed on each sock?
The product listing on our site is set up for just one design to be printed on both socks, but upon request we can print a different design on each sock. The easiest way to do this is to upload one design on the sock you would like to print on and in the notes section at checkout mention you would like to have a different design printed on each sock and email the second image to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your order number when sending the email and we’ll take it from there!
How do I design the socks with the faces all over the socks?
We have a collection of socks where you can just upload the photos and we’ll clip and edit the faces when setting up the design. You can start creating your own face socks here.

Once an order is shipped you’ll receive an order confirmation via email and on domestic orders you’ll be able to track the order once the label has been scanned by the shipper.
Do you embroider/screen print/heat transfer on the socks?
Our printing processes are different then other socks with custom printing options. The eco-friendly inks we use are printed directly on the surface of the socks which go through a heat curing process to set the ink. We do not embroider (no stretch) , screen print (color limitations), heat transfer or dye sublimate (polyester socks) or apply vinyl (can peel off) on our socks.
Printing on black and dark colored socks
Dark colored socks require extra steps in the production process and we apply a white ink layer first before the colors of the design are printed on this layer. If your artwork has a white background around the design we will remove this before we print the socks. When the socks are stretched you may see some cracking or stretching of the ink but this is normal for this application and does not flake or peel off.
